Bashar Assad Fate Is Determined In International Negotiations

Cyber Daily News - The fate of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad will be determined in international talks next few weeks, according to the United States.

"At the multilateral session, Assad's role in this transition will be spelled out," said a spokesman for the US State Department John Kirby told AFP.


According to a framework agreed last month in Vienna by 17 countries daa three international agencies including the United Nations, Syria will initiate a political discussion on or after January 1.


The leaders of the Assad regime and the opposition groups are not considered terrorists by the international community, will have six months to map out a constitution and hold elections.


The US and its allies hope that the ceasefire between the government and rebels moderate who make peaceful retreat Assad, while the local and foreign forces fighting the focus of ISIS.


But Assad ally --Rusia and Iran-- hesitant on this strategy because according to them the fate of Assad should be determined by its own people, while the Syrian strongman itself refused.


"You can not achieve anything politically when you find the terrorists control of many parts of Syria. If we talk after that, one and a half year to two years would be enough for any transition," Assad said in an interview on Italian television.
